Borg-Warner Trophy Heads to Japan To Celebrate Sato’s First Victory

 November 30, 2017 - The iconic Borg-Warner Trophy is leaving the United States for the first time in its 82-year-history, traveling this week to Japan for a 15-day celebration of Takuma Sato's victory in the 101st Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil. The Borg-Warner Trophy left its permanent home at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum on Nov. 28, flying from the United States to Tokyo for a variety of festivities to honor Sato as the first Japanese winner of "The Greatest Spectacle in Racing" and also to celebrate Honda's 12th Indianapolis 500 victory. Moorespeed To Compete in IMSA Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge

Truex, Pollex Receive Prestigious Myers Brothers Award

November 29, 2017 – A storybook season added another brilliant chapter on Wednesday as Martin Truex Jr. and girlfriend Sherry Pollex won the prestigious 2017 Myers Brothers Award. NASCAR Legend Bud Moore Passes Away

November 28, 2017 – Walter “Bud” Moore Jr., a decorated member of America’s “Greatest Generation” who went on to win NASCAR championships as car owner and crew chief, has died at the age of 92. Moore, a Spartanburg, S.C., native who won the NASCAR premier series title in 1957 as crew chief for Buck Baker and car owner titles in 1962-63 with Joe Weatherly, had been the oldest living member of the NASCAR Hall of Fame. He was inducted in 2011. After graduating from high school, Moore joined the military in 1943 at the age of 18 as a machine gunner, assigned to the 90th Infantry Division which landed on Utah Beach in France on D-Day, June 6, 1944. His unit was attached to General George W. Patton’s “Third Army,” which pushed to liberate Europe. In recognition of his heroism, Moore was decorated with five Purple Hearts and two Bronze [...]

Truex Jr. Battles to Win NASCAR Championship

November 19, 2017 – Martin Truex Jr. capped off a dream season with a tenacious late-race drive to capture the NASCAR Cup Series championship Sunday at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Truex, who led four times for 78 laps in his No. 78 Bass Pro Shops/TRACKER Boats Toyota, held off a hard-charging Kyle Busch while leading the final 51 laps. His margin of victory over Busch was 0.681 seconds. Truex needed to finish ahead of Busch and the two other Championship 4 drivers — Kevin Harvick and Brad Keselowski — to claim the season title. The victory was the eighth of the season for Truex, who now owns 15 career Cup wins. Thirteen of those wins have been with the Denver, Colo.-based Furniture Row Racing team. Danica Plans To Race in 102nd Indianapolis 500 Next May

 November. 17, 2017 - Fan favorite Danica Patrick announced Friday, Nov. 17 she plans to race in the 102nd Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil in May 2018, the last start in her barrier-breaking career as a race driver. Patrick, from Roscoe, Illinois, has made seven career starts in "The Greatest Spectacle in Racing" from 2005-11, setting a number of milestones for female drivers. Her best finish - third in 2009 - and start - fourth as a rookie in 2005 - both are records for female drivers in the "500." US Racetronics Captures Super Trofeo Pro-Am Championship

 November 17, 2017 - The Lamborghini Super Trofeo Pro-Am Championship came down to the last laps of the last race of the season with the US RaceTronics duo of Edoardo Piscopo and Taylor Proto winning the back and forth battle and taking the championship over Austin Versteeg with a win in Round 12 at the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari in Imola, Italy. The USRT pair came into the last two Rounds of the 2017 LSTNA Championship with a one-point lead. Versteeq took the championship lead when the No. 50 Lamborghini of Beverly Hills Huracan finished second in Round 11. Funny Car Speed: It’s Partly in the Clutch

November 11, 2017, by Kay Presto,   Speed… It’s obvious in the Top Fuel class of the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing series, with Brittany Force piloting her Monster Energy dragster to a top speed of 330.31 miles per hour in Friday’s  qualifying round at the Auto Club Raceway in Pomona. But the Funny Cars excel at speed too. Jack Beckman powered his Infinite Hero Foundation Dodge Charger R/T to a top speed of 334.98 miles per hour down the 1000-foot dragstrip. Courtney Force also charged her Chevy Camaro Funny Car to a speed of 334.57 miles per hour. How are these fire-breathing Funny Cars attaining those speeds?
